“Be The Energy You Want To Attract”

~Anonymous

I spent five days on an energy retreat in the Outer Banks of North Carolina a few years ago. Right behind this three-story beach house was the Atlantic Ocean. Soft sand, dolphins playing about, and mighty waves were moving towards the shore, calling us to explore the ocean’s divine richness and the powerful energy that comes naturally to it.

What is Energy?
1. Everything is energy.

2. Your life is a reflection of your energy.

3. You are the creator of your life.

4. Your creation ~ Your life ~ Is always expanding.

5. The purpose of your life is to discover your creator-ship.
~Dr. Sue Morter

Dr. Sue Morter is a master of bioenergetic medicine and a quantum field visionary. She wrote a book titled “The Energy Codes,” and these five truths are what a dozen diverse women, including myself, came to learn about. We all had one thing in common: a desire to understand how our energy lives and breathes in our bodies, what blocks this energy, and what guides it to move smoothly and in alignment for a more profound, healthy connection.

Our teacher, Jen Fedorowicz, works closely with Dr. Sue and has a website that explains more about a technique called “B.E.S.T. " This technique clears interference from unresolved emotions that get “stuck” in the body because we haven’t been taught to allow and be with emotion.

The BIG picture of the Energy Codes, as Jen says, is awakening you to the magnificent creator that you came here to be.💜

This workshop/retreat was among the best I have had the honor of attending. Jen’s warm, welcoming persona brought a relaxed atmosphere from the get-go. The knowledge she brought to the table was extraordinary and as she explained the days ahead, her sense of humor brought ease to the room, and the exercises she spoke of were to bring awareness to our body’s Energy and the intertwined health issues we may carry with them.

A couple of weeks before the retreat, Jen sent a questionnaire about what foods we liked and didn’t like, what we were allergic to, what our favorite piece of music was, and what was the one thing we did to pamper ourselves. We could not have felt more relaxed and at home with the ambiance surrounding us that week.

Each day, we started with early morning yoga outside and a healthy green juice cocktail afterward. Some women were brave enough to head for the ocean for a swim before breakfast and came back with slightly purple lips while saying how rejuvenated they felt. Being a San Diego girl, cold ocean water was not my cup of tea, and I passed on the invitation the next day.🥶

The exercises, meditations and even the dancing taught us how to breathe our Energy through the body, to unblock and awaken our cells and organs to a new way of health and clarity. We can begin anew when understanding how “our stories” can alter this.

I would like to share one of the exercises from the weekend that gave me the gift of releasing one of my strongest blockages from an experience years ago. I have learned that until we bring those blockages to the table where our weaknesses and deep regrets lie and sift through them carefully with honesty, they will linger and lie dormant until we are ready to bring rest and peace to this teacher of forgiveness.

The Energy Shift Exercise

Jen explained the exercise would help us remove the blockages in our bodies, dissolve stagnation, and bring fresh insight into our stories. It would also clarify how our Energy can shift/change the dynamics of our poignant story while letting go of the drama behind it. I was ready…(I think🤔)

The story I chose for this exercise is one that, after 47 years, has pulled me many times to bring it to a place of peace and honor to myself. Each time I have tried, my heart gets the best of me, and I’m always back to square one…until this mind-blowing activity.

(I wrote a story a few years back titled “The Day My Heart Fainted.” It is about giving my firstborn child up for adoption. It is in the book I wrote. For those of you who have it and have not read that story yet, you may want to go after this to have a clearer understanding of that experience. And if anyone does not have the book and would like to read the story, let me know in the comment section, and I’ll send the story via email.)

Okay, back to this story.🤓

We paired up with a partner and stood facing each other. We each had a minute and a half to share our complex story. Our partners were to listen and say nothing but visualize sending loving Energy into us.

Waiting to hear “Go,” I thought, “How could I tell this emotional story in a minute and a half when I’ve been carrying the pain for so many years?

And then I heard, “Go.”

I looked into my partner’s eyes, and tears flooded my own. As they flowed, I tried to speak clearly. Her eyes started watering, and I could tell she was having as much of a tough time listening to it as I was telling it.

Then I heard, “Stop.”, and my breathing was catching a ride on the tightrope of my emotions.

Jen gave us a moment to collect ourselves. Then, it was my partner’s turn. “Go”

She did well. Her story was one of strength, courage, and not moving toward taking over responsibilities that were not her’s to take. Tough? Yes! Was she able to tell it confidently? Absolutely, and I was amazed. We both hugged afterward and breathed.

Next, we were to tell the same story again but, this time, with humor. What the….?? NO WAY!!! How in the heck was I going to do THAT??

Jen gave us an example of something that had happened in her life, which was not at all humorous, and by the end, we were all laughing. Humm, I thought, maybe I could do this. Everything in my body, though, was saying, “Don’t try this. How could you even laugh about something as heart-wrenching as this?”

“Go”…Yikes! I stared at my partner for a few seconds, and she moved her hands like, come on, you can do this. And then, I jumped in, allowing my Energy to take over. I cannot explain the discomfort I felt in laughing while sharing this memory and figuring out the following lines in a humorous way. Still, I was here to learn how to dissolve blockages in my body and wanted more than anything to feel the freedom of release.

Inside, though, there was a battle going on. The distraught nineteen-year-old, still gripping and living in that story, wanted nothing to do with this change. That would mean the drama would vanish since the emotional feeding she received from it would be gone. The other me, who I am now, let the younger me know that by allowing this change, healing could take place and give this story a more rewarding outcome.

When I heard, “Stop,” my partner and I laughed and told her, “Phew…that was tough.” But as I took a few deep breaths, getting ready to hear her story, I felt an odd lightness—an air of freshness—and my core felt the Energy of calm relief.

(At this moment, as I write, I feel soft clarity. The emotion coming through is peaceful.)

When my partner finished her story, the Energy in the room felt like a party. Seriously, I felt like the room was full of joy.

The last part of the exercise was to tell our story again, but this time, we had only thirty seconds. Hearing this, we all let out a sigh of relief.

Jen waited a moment as she looked around the room. As I followed her eyes, I thought, UH OH, I know that look. This is going to be something crazy; I know it!!! Jen continued, “You are going to tell your story like if you were a….dog.

WHAT THE…😳 Like a DOG? NO! NO WAY!!

I had a picture in my head of me saying, “I’m done! Thanks for the experience but call me when dinner is ready. I’ll be in my room.” But, as I looked around the room, the faces of the others were saying the same thing. We were ALL going to our rooms…and I burst out laughing. The Energy in the room was obviously still full of helium.😂

I looked at my partner and said, “Let’s do this!” I went first. Talk about funny. Listening to myself whimpering as I went to the nursery, then howling as I was leaving the hospital, and then barking with joy when my brother’s girlfriend showed up just when I needed reassurance was all wrapped up in an energy that took my story to a level of love and acceptance.

We then sat down and wrote our reflections on this exercise in our journals.

It was a blow to my nineteen-year-old self as she found the drama disappearing. I brought her close during this transition and whispered the words she desperately needed to hear, not by anyone else but me.

“Your struggles during this time were real, and the sorrow deep, but the courage to put this precious part of you first and do what was in her best interest was one of the most selfless gifts anyone could ever give. Rest now and allow the immense Energy of love to engulf you.”💖

Now that I have shared this story with you, I breathe deeply in appreciation and lightness.

Those of you who have energetically supported and loved me through my stories of challenges, sorrows, and joys this past year have, without knowing it, lifted me and helped loosen the blockages just by your encouragement. You have shared what you see in me that I haven’t, which is huge for my growth.

Energy is everything.

Therefore, you and I are Energy that will never separate.

Now, isn’t that something to dance about?

Thoughts to Ponder:
What stories have weighed you down throughout your life while not allowing the drama to dissolve and awaken to the magnificent creator you came here to be?
💖

Thank you for stopping by. Your reading, listening and responding is always a gift to me. Please pass it along if you feel someone would benefit from this story.🦋
